TUTTING



Tutting is a contemporary abstract interpretive street dance this is althogh usually done in the hip hop Genre style modeled after Egyptian hieroglyphics. The term Tutting is derived from the name of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun. Tutting is performed with attention to the musics' rhythm by altering the position of the body and limbs in a synchronized, robotic manner.

BIHU DANCE

    Bihu Dance
 
The Bihu Dance from Assam is one of the most colourful folk dances of India. With the advent of spring comes the Bohag Bihu or Rongali Bihu, when Nature,like a young woman, blossoms into a radiance of light, beauty and colour. The Bohag Bihu not only ushers in the Assamese New year, but also marks the sowing season and the season of Marriage. In fact, the dance has its roots in an earlier fertility cult. It is in this atmosphere that young girls and boys perform the Bihu Dance, inviting each other to the land of romance.

KATHAKALI

    Kathakali:
The main feature about Kathakali is the striking costumes and makeup. This is a form of dance drama that originated in the Southern state of Kerela. The make up used is one of the most interesting features of this dance. This is an elaborate procedure, which is combined with a large headgear.
